120spacer.gif (56 bytes) Freud

Sigmund Freud is called "The Father of Psychoanalysis", and believed that, throughout our lives, we wrestle with the possibility of loss, and the fears of loss. It may be the loss of love, or the loss of approval, or the loss of a home, or a sense of security.

Freud felt that we are all motivated, powerfully, to mitigate the losses that we may, or must, suffer, and that this careful maintenance of security is the emotion which motivates us as to how we conduct our lives.
